Welcome to the official launch of Chadhiyana: In the Company of Shadows, the new graphic novel by, writer and artist, J. M. DeSantis. This book continues the story of Chadhiyana as it was begun a year ago in a comic which collected two stand-alone short stories featuring the title character (available for purchase on IndyPlanet.com). Chadhiyana.com was set up as a platform for J. M. DeSantis to regularly post pages from the book as he completes it, grows Chadhiyana’s readership and looks for a publisher for the graphic novel and other Chadhiyana stories.

Today, the first day, we begin with J. M. DeSantis’s hand-painted cover for the book. This will be followed by some introduction pages and the book’s Prologue. The author wishes to excuse the lack of word balloons in the Prologue. It’s part of the story, and it makes perfect sense–you’ll see. (J. M. promises plenty of word balloons will follow.)

For at least the next two weeks, leading into and through the New York Comic Con, one page will post every weekday (Monday through Friday). After that, depending on how much more work J. M. DeSantis is able to complete on the book, either a weekly posting schedule will begin or the weekday posts will continue through Tuesday, October 29th followed by a weekly posting schedule. (Weekly posts will be on Tuesdays.) In either case, an announcement will be made, so keep checking back and keep reading.

Also, if you’re attending the 2013 New York Comic Con, know that Chadhiyana’s creator, J. M. DeSantis, will be at booth # 943 (with NovaStar Studios) all four days.
