Black Comic Book Festival This Weekend

J. M. DeSantis Event

The 4th annual Black Comic Book Festival is being held this Saturday, January 16th, at The Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture (New York, NY). As the name suggests, it’s a celebration of black comic heroes, heroines and creators. Like most comic events, the BCBF includes panels, workshops, film screenings and exhibitor tables. Amongst the exhibitors will be my publisher (for the Chadhiyana series), Rosarium Publishing, and they’ve asked me to join them for the event! Read more… ›

Chadhiyana #3 & Upcoming Event

Chadhiyana #3 News

The New Year has only just begun, and already there are some big things on the horizon. Within just a short period of time, the long-awaited third issue of Chadhiyana is going to be released, and I’ll be making an appearance at another comic book event. So get your calendars out. It’s time to start marking down a few important dates.  Read more… ›

New York Comic Con Booth 1259!

J. M. DeSantis Upcoming Event

Another year has passed and the New York Comic Con is upon us once more! For the sixth year in a row I will be making an appearance at the show, this time in the exact same spot as last year: Booth 1259 in the Small Press area! Of course, it’s long past time I got back into Artist Alley, but that’s another story. For now, I’m just happy to be participating in such a monumental pop-culture event. Read more… ›

Important Upcoming Dates

Just a friendly reminder of some important dates coming up in the next month. First, if you haven’t joined the mailing list yet, there’s still time to do so before the first newsletter goes out (either tomorrow or Thursday, the 30th or the 1st, respectively). It’s (I hope) going to be a great way to keep on top of not only Chadhiyana, but release dates, developments and other such things related to me and my work (there’s a form to join the mailing list at the bottom of this post). Thank You, Inbeon Con!

J. M. DeSantis Spiderman sketch coverIt’s been a summer of conventions (compared to what I’m used to): three in a row, in three different states. With Inbeon Con: Summer Edition this past weekend, my public appearances have ended until the New York Comic Con in October (though I am debating adding another show or two onto my schedule, before the end of the year). That said, Inbeon Con was a spectacular event, and I’m very glad my friend Eric Hutchison (owner of Inbeon Studios and host of the event) convinced me to do it.

Like a lot of shows I’ve been doing this year, Inbeon Con was much smaller than shows like New York Comic Con (well, really, what show isn’t smaller than NYCC?) or even Boston Comic Con. Though, I’m finding sometimes the smaller shows turn out to be a bigger success than the larger ones, especially one day shows as they tend to be the most intimate between the attendees and the exhibitors and there’s less competition at the show. Thank You, Boston!

J. M. DeSantis Boston Comic Con 2015 table

It’s Monday morning (Tuesday for you, reader), and I’m back in the studio again for a week before I’m off to yet another convention. This Saturday is the Inbeon Con: Summer Edition (inbeoncon.com), and it will be my last con until New York Comic Con in October. (Again, sorry folks, I won’t be able to make Baltimore Comic-Con because of a wedding I’m in that weekend.) But before all of that, I wanted to thank everyone who attended the Boston Comic Con and helped make this such a successful show! Read more… ›

One Down, Two to Go

Upcoming J. M. DeSantis Event

As a child growing up in New Jersey, the Mennen Arena was this vaguely referred to place where the WWE (then the WWF) would occasionally hold a house show. I never went there as a kid, but somehow I never forgot the name. So when the opportunity came up to attend an event there this past weekend, the little kid in me got just a little curious again. However, it wasn’t Bret Hart or Shawn Michaels headlining the event but rather names like Greg Hildebrant, Neal Adams, Mark McKenna and yours truly, J. M. DeSantis (well, maybe I’m not a headliner yet, but I’m hoping my time will come). Read more… ›

Eternal Con 2015 This Weekend

This Saturday and Sunday I will be appearing in Artist Alley at Eternal Con for the first time ever! I’ve heard a lot of great things about this show, so hopefully the long (long) commute to Long Island will be worth it for me. It’s been a great convention season so far, and I’m only halfway through. I’m hoping for yet another successful show–especially with the replenished stock (since I was nearly cleaned out in White Plains) and the brand new items I’ll have on the table this weekend. White Plains Comic Con this Saturday

Although I’ve forgotten to post about it here, if you’ve been checking my main website (jmdesantis.com) you probably know that this year I have a fairly large convention schedule, including the two past events, East Coast ComiCon and Bronx Heroes: Women in Comics Convention. Well, only two weeks after the last event, I’m exhibiting again at the White Plains Comic Con in White Plains, New York, and on hand will be some new Chadhiyana prints, as well as copies of the first Chadhiyana comic. 2015 Conventions Begin in One Month

As posted on his blog today (on jmdesantis.com), Chadhiyana creator, J. M. DeSantis will be attending the East Coast ComiCon on April 11 & 12, 2015. It is being held at the Meadowlands Expo Center in Secaucus, New Jersey, and will J. M.’s first convention appearance in his native New Jersey. Of course, on hand will be a number of Chadhiyana items and the chance to harass J. M. about the big news he’s been teasing about for so long (which likely will be announced by then). Read more… ›
