The Official Chadhiyana #2 Release Date
I’m sure there are many of you who have been waiting for this. And what with a two week break from social media and posts about a mailing list at the end of the month, the anticipation has probably been mounting. That said, I do want to prepare some of you for a little disappointment, but I promise you issue 2 is coming and there’s a reason why it won’t be exactly when you (I assume) or I were expecting. Plus, I’m going to give you a preview of the amazing painted cover by yours truly.
Rosarium Publishing has given me the official release date of October 27, 2015 for Chadhiyana #2 (after New York Comic Con, but just four days before my favourite holiday of all time).
As I’ve been talking and writing about this being a bi-monthly book, and the first issue came out in July, I’m sure you’ve noticed that’s a month later than anticipated. Though there were a number of factors involved in the delay of issue 2, the overriding reason is that Rosarium is readjusting their comic publishing schedule, to better pace the titles they have coming out (including Manticore and Malice in Ovenland).
That said, both Rosarium and I are on the same page to continue publishing bi-monthly after that, as we’re shooting for the first Chadhiyana: In the Company of Shadows trade for Fall 2016 – Spring 2017 (a full six or seven issues–half of the Company of Shadows story). As it is, art for issue 3 is well under way, and I’m nearly finished with the script for Book II (what will otherwise be the second trade and second half of the story). All I ask is that my growing Chadhiyana fans please be patient, as always.
For those who were reading the web-comic version, I should mention that issue 2 will complete the publication of those pages (all the way up to the previously listed page 72). So that means, ideally, my original web-comic fans should have brand new content in time for Christmas (if you celebrate it). Of course, even with the best intentions on mine and the publisher’s end, no one can predict what the distributors will do, especially when it comes to independents in the comic’s industry. But keep your fingers crossed, and hopefully the remaining issues in the series will release on schedule.
Of course, I’m sorry for any inconveniences or disappointments this news causes my readers. Late is not something I strive for, but I hope you’ll understand why it’s happening in this case.
That said, keep checking back for updates, keep reading my blog (on jmdesantis.com), and if you haven’t already, be sure to join my forthcoming mailing list (a small form is located on the sidebar). That way, as soon as issue 2 is available, you’ll be sure to have the news.
Cheers!
