They’re Back: Chadhiyana & Gentleman Cthulhu (but mostly Chadhiyana)

J. M. DeSantis's Chadhiyana & Gentleman Cthulhu are back!

It’s taken a while to get to this point, but finally there’s a new Chadhiyana comic, a short titled Chadhiyana: The Call of Fire and it’s free to read on chadhiyana.com! And although I didn’t plan it to line up this (near) perfectly, the new Gentleman Cthulhu artwork reveal comic is up on gentlemancthulhu.com today!

As I’ve written about before, I had taken a break from both projects, but intended to come back to them. Gentleman Cthulhu began his return with new comics posting since August of this year, and Chadhiyana will return in a new series next year through (my) Dark Fire Press (darkfirepress.com). And for you Chadhiyana fans, today’s post is mostly about the upcoming series.  Read more… ›

Chadhiyana #5 Available for Review

Chadhiyana News
As I’ve been writing and hinting at for a couple of weeks now (or at least it feels so–on my regular blog on jmdesantis.com, that is), Chadhiyana #5 is going to be released relatively soon. It has been a long wait between issues 4 and 5, and I’ve made some mention of why that has been in the past–not least that my publisher, Rosarium Publishing, was doing some work behind the scenes that delayed the issue’s release (Rosarium is still a very small operation, despite their growth over the years). That said, my publisher and I think the wait just may be worth it, because we both agree this is by far the best issue of Chadhiyana yet. Read more… ›

Five Years Ago…

Goddess_Sand_banner

It was five years ago this month (July 2011) that I began preparing for my second New York Comic Con appearance. I had decided beforehand to dedicate the entire summer to getting new work ready. This included new prints, my first (and, to date, only) sketchbook (for sale, that is) and a collapsible banner to draw people to my table. Amongst the pieces I created that summer were an unused cover idea I had wanted to submit to Planet Lovecraft Magazine (before it closed its doors) of Cthulhu sitting in an armchair in Victorian attire, reading a copy of the magazine and an acrylic painting of a nameless Indian female warrior. More Chadhiyana #3

Chadhiyana News

Chadhiyana #4 has already been submitted to the publisher (Rosarium Publishing, that is) and it promises to be an intense, albeit short, issue. As much as I’d love to write more about it at this point, I’ll save that for the official release-date announcement. In the meanwhile, though it’s been available for a little over a month now, Chadhiyana #3 has still been getting some attention and is available on yet another one of Rosarium Publishing’s online distributor sites. Interview with Sequential Tart

My anticipated interview with Sequential Tart (sequentialtart.com) is finally available on their website! Previously, the site had reviewed Chadhiyana #1 and #2, both with a 10/10 rating. Then, last month, they contacted me for an interview about Chadhiyana, how the character developed and even how I got into comics in the first place. Read more… ›

New York Comic Con is One Month Away

J. M. DeSantis Event 2015

It’s September 8th and you know what that means: it’s exactly one month to the day before the start of the 2015 New York Comic Con! It’s also six days and some odd hours before extended ticket mailing for the show closes. As in the previous few years, I be exhibiting in the small press area (I believe at the same booth as last year: 1259)–so be sure not to look for me in artist alley. That said, though I’ll be in the same spot as some small publishers, it’s not only books you can get at my booth (though, you can get books too). Read more… ›

Sign Up for the Mailing List

At the end of this month (or at the very latest, the beginning of next month), I will be starting up a mailing list. At this point, with Chadhiyana, my new web-comic Gentleman Cthulhu (gentlemancthulhu.com) and my weekly blog (jmdesantis.com), never mind any forthcoming publications and projects, it’s starting to become necessary to have a central means of keeping fans up-to-date. This monthly newsletter is going to be an attempt (and hopefully a successful one at that) at keeping all of my fans in the know on everything that is coming out from me. Read more… ›
