Of course, if you follow this blog and my social media posts, you know that the book has been out for ten days already (on IndyPlanet.com and Amazon.com). Hopefully you’ve already purchased, read and enjoyed it. If you haven’t, today’s blog post is especially for you. Read more… ›

Eternal Con 2015 This Weekend

This Saturday and Sunday I will be appearing in Artist Alley at Eternal Con for the first time ever! I’ve heard a lot of great things about this show, so hopefully the long (long) commute to Long Island will be worth it for me. It’s been a great convention season so far, and I’m only halfway through. I’m hoping for yet another successful show–especially with the replenished stock (since I was nearly cleaned out in White Plains) and the brand new items I’ll have on the table this weekend. 2015 Conventions Begin in One Month

As posted on his blog today (on jmdesantis.com), Chadhiyana creator, J. M. DeSantis will be attending the East Coast ComiCon on April 11 & 12, 2015. It is being held at the Meadowlands Expo Center in Secaucus, New Jersey, and will J. M.’s first convention appearance in his native New Jersey. Of course, on hand will be a number of Chadhiyana items and the chance to harass J. M. about the big news he’s been teasing about for so long (which likely will be announced by then). Read more… ›

Changes Made

reposted today from jmdesantis.com

If you missed my post last Thursday on Facebook, Twitter and Google+, I mentioned that there was a certain document of interest which was placed in my e-mail last week. That particular document is the harbinger of the big news I’ve had coming for a long time. The end is nigh. And with that, some changes have been made in preparation for its coming. Read more… ›

It’s Almost Here…

reposted today from jmdesantis.com

The wait is almost over, folks. I’ve gotten word from the powers that be that I should be seeing something official from them within the week. That means the reveal of that BIG news is finally (almost) here. That said, everything is about a month behind where I was hoping it would be at this point, so rather than tease you more, I thought I’d reveal a little bit about what exactly has been going on in the past two months, behind the scenes. Boston & Baltimore Comic Cons 2014 & a New Chadhiyana Edition

Chadhiyana 2nd edition coverThere’s a lot to announce this week concerning Chadhiyana, and even more to come in the coming months. Next month is the Baltimore Comic-Con (September 5-7, 2014), and amongst its many Artist Alley guests will be Chadhiyana creator, J. M. DeSantis. However, even before Baltimore is the Boston Comic Con this weekend (Friday through Sunday). Amongst the highlights of the convention are a panel on which J. M. DeSantis will be speaking (on Friday) and the release of a new edition of Chadhiyana.

This second edition of Chadhiyana (the first comic) features new cover art (by J. M. DeSantis), the new Chadhiyana logo (created by Corey Breen–which is now featured on the site, if you haven’t noticed), and the Prologue of Chadhiyana: In the Company of Shadows, as well as a new afterword by J. M. DeSantis. The reason for including the Prologue of the graphic novel was that the original book was too short (a mere 16 pages), however J. M. DeSantis did not want to include new content which would force previous buyers to re-purchase the same book just for new content. Plus, it would give new buyers an introduction to the graphic novel. What’s more, much of the original book was imperfect–especially the colours as they compared to the original art. Read more… ›

So mark your calendars for August 8-10, and don’t miss out on the other appearances he has scheduled for this year.  Read more… ›

Almost There

After a couple of weeks of waiting, Chapter I is finally here. With this new chapter comes another title page (as will always be the case for new chapters), but also a new graphic for all chapter title pages (to give the title pages a little more character)–the title page of the Prologue has been changed to match this. Also, as stated many a time, dialogue will begin in this new chapter. So, you can expect to learn what the action-based sequence of the Prologue was all about soon enough. Read more… ›

The Incredible Disappearing, Reappearing Scabbard

As promised, corrections have been made this week to Chadhiyana: In the Company of Shadows. The scabbard hanging from the female shadow warrior’s (now revealed to be Chadhiyana) belt which had been missing on pages 17 and 18, has now been added to those pages. And, in case you were wondering, J. M. DeSantis did hand paint those corrections.

Don’t forget that Chapter I begins posting next week (yes, starting with another chapter title page). The art will also move from the limited colour scheme of the Prologue to something more full, and again, there will be dialogue starting with the first page of the new chapter. So make sure you come back in the New Year and see how this graphic novel develops in 2014. Happy New Year!

Some Small Changes

Two small changes were made to the pages of Chadhiyana: In the Company of Shadows this week (aside from adding page 18 to the list). First, the text reading “~a graphic novel~ by” was removed from the cover image, as well as J. M. DeSantis’s JMD logo (also his signature) from the top of the cover. The logo was expanded to cover more area, and the bottom purple bar (upon which the aforementioned text was place) was removed. Second, the colours on last week’s page 17 were darkened in certain instances, where necessary to maintain a uniform look from page to page. Again, minor changes, but worth noting for those of you paying attention.

Don’t forget that dialogue will begin with Chapter I of the graphic novel, the first page of which should post around the beginning of the new year.
